Skin-to-skin to soothe
Caring for premature babies can be stressful. The babies are tiny and vulnerable, new parents are often overwhelmed, and neonatal units offer little privacy with several incubators in a room. Placing babies to rest calmly on the parent’s chest, skin-to-skin, is best. But how to remain calm amidst the commotion? Ricky’s EMBRACE offers relief for many of the problems on the wards. The sofa’s tall back and sides offer seclusion and a sense of security. The hygienic immitation leather cushions provide stability and warmth, and tubes can be tucked away for a cosy snuggle and a healthy dose of oxytocin.

Good taste, is no waste! That’s the slogan of the concept REJECTED, a mobile shop. REJECTED is the brand around a mobile salad bar. The Salads will be made of rejected fruit and vegetables. The food is rejected from the supermarkets only because the fruit and vegetables are not beautiful or regular enough. The taste is still good and fresh, and by cutting the food for salads, it can be sold perfectly. The vegetables in the shop are ordered on color. The packaging will be made of eatable paper. Ricky Kloosterman designed the concept around REJECTED the shop, but also the photo campaign and the marketing story around REJECTED.

Ricky Kloosterman created for the Move competion (www.moveaward.com) her vision of the year 2050. Her research was about the future of Funerals. In her concept she believes that funerals will become more intimate and personal in the future of 2050. Ricky has done a research on behaviors of funerals in different cultures and the habits that belong this. Out of the research she took the essentials, and with that information she designed a coffin. The coffin will work with the innovative process of resomation. Resomation is a process that is more environmentally friendly than bury or cremation. The concept is about having your funeral with your most intimate friends and family, on a self-chosen location as a ‘Last journey’, the name of the project.
